Strengthening Collaboration: Sternberg Press / The Incidents

How do you narrate the tale of a friendship? How do you uncover the origins of one of the most noteworthy interdisciplinary partnerships in the fashion industry today? It was at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design where artist Sterling Ruby and fashion designer Raf Simons shared their story, sitting on stage alongside curator Jessica Morgan. Reflecting on a bond that has flourished over the course of a decade, as well as a body of work that defies conventional boundaries, Ruby and Simons engaged in a conversation marked by mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to the future. It was a narrative and an interaction that transcended mere collaboration.

"The Incidents" is a series of books documenting unique occurrences at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design from 1936 to the present day. Edited by Jennifer Sigler and Leah Whitman-Salkin, with contributions from Jessica Morgan, this publication is a collaboration with the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
